Weddings Away

Do you love the idea of a destination wedding, but still want something more traditional?  Maybe your hosting the wedding in your fiance's home town two provinces over?  Or maybe your families live on opposite ends of the country, and you'd like to host your wedding somewhere in the middle so everyone has to travel equally.  Do you want something unique to bring your family and friends together but don't want a tropical destination?  If you don't want to mess with passports and another countries marriage laws, then how about a destination wedding Canadian style eh!

Vancouver Island is a beautful option with plenty of resorts located right on the beach, so you could still have that beach wedding without having to go through customs!

Why not tie the knot at the top of the world!  The Rockie Mountains in Jasper and Banff Alberta make a stunning backdrop for weddings.  Love skiing?  Why not rent some chalets for your guests and host your reception in a lodge by a warm burning fire.  Buffalo Mountain Lodge is located in Banff, Alberta.  It has several rooms for your guests and would be a perfect location for a winter destination wedding.

And of course, the Fairmont chain of hotels in Banff , Jasper and Lake Louise are breathtaking in themselves!

Located approximately 2 hours north of Toronto is the District of Muskoka, an area spanning 2500 square miles, and the home to 1600 lakes, making this an ideal cottage country destination.  There are many resorts and lake lodges that offer wedding packages, and your guests can enjoy a stay in a beautiful lake front cottage.  Exchange vows on the dock, then host your sunset reception in the main lodge or a lake side tent.
Want to be really different?  The Ice Hotel, located 10 km west of Quebec City, has been the site chosen by more than 150 couples for their chillin' nuptuals.
The east coast is a beautiful option for destination and definitely a location your guests will enjoy touring.  The Fairmont Algonquin in New Brunswick offers venues with a view.  The Roof Top Garden is the perfect location with that east coast flavour!  Get married on the beach and then serve a fresh seafood buffet!
So as you can see, you don't have to go too far for that memorable destination wedding!
